Why Do I do This Work?
Because I’ve lived it!
Nothing about my own journey has been typical or linear and I earned some of my proudest moments while navigating change or rebuilding my life.
Most of what I coach, I had to learn myself from a range of adverse experiences. And that’s what I bring to this work: hard-won insight, empathy without pity, and practical strategies for real change….
In terms of recognition, I was happy to receive a Global Citizen Award for work aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals through The Irish Embassy in Vietnam — for areas in wellbeing, community building, writing and lifelong learning. I consider myself lucky to have been able to travel the world and meet great communities in Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and America. And I think it has helped my ability to coach people from all over the world.
At 51, my own VO₂ max is 45.1, with a resting heart rate of 48 bpm—markers of cardiovascular health and nervous system balance. But more importantly, they reflect long-term wellbeing and psychological flexibility, which I aim to pass on through my work and within my six-pillar routine!
Everything I teach, coach, and share — I’ve done myself. Not in theory, but in real life, often under pressure, in adversity, and against the odds.
Today, at 51 I’m living the life I designed and I do this work because I like helping people to do the same - whatever the circumstances life throws at you.
